THE PERFECT GIFT FOR YOU

Romans 6:23,  John 3:16

Christmas is a time to give and receive gifts. Some gifts are unwanted, whilst others unsuitable. Other gifts only last a short time and wear out or are used up. Its hard to find the perfect gift to give and even harder to receive the perfect gift you want!

God is the great Giver - he has given us this planet to live on and filled it with abundance to meet all our physical needs; food, clothing and shelter. He has also given all we need to meet our emotional needs: family, friendship, employment. However, none of these are perfect because since we live in an imperfect world which has been tainted, spoiled and corrupted by sin. This sin shows itself out in our lives through selfishness, envy, pride, vanity, abuse, violence, love of things rather than love of God the Giver.

What a gift if all the wrongs in one's life could be righted, if a person's future was secure and eternity something to look forward to rather than fear! God in his love has already bought this perfect gift and  now offers it freely. The name of this gift in ETERNAL LIFE, also known in the Bible as SALVATION.

Though this gift is free it was not cheap to procure, it cost God his own Son the Lord Jesus Christ. Diety himself came from eternity into time in the form of a human baby conceived of the Holy Spirit and borne by the virgin Mary. "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1st Timothy 1:15)". On the cross he bore our sins and suffered God's righteous judgement "Christ died for our sins (1st Corinthians 15:3)". He was buried and rose again the third day.

God is now presenting you the Perfect Gift, offered by the nail-pierced hand of Jesus, purchased by his own blood.

Is this a gift you need? Is this a gift you want? Will you receive it?

"But as many as received Him (Jesus Christ), to them gave he power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12)"
